You are offered the option £250,000 (a quarter of a million pounds) OR the sum of money on the last square of a chessboard if 1p is placed on the first square, 2p on the second square, 4p on the third square, 8p on the fourth, etc, doubling the sum of money on each square.

I would take the last square because 2 to the power of 1 = 2 so if there are 64 squares on a chess board it will be 2 to the power of 64 = £18446740737100000000000000000.00
